For the Restoration of Hope

For over 100 years, The Salvation Army of Yuba-Sutter has restored hope and transformed lives throughout our region. The programs and services we offer lift people up out of the cycle of poverty, give them hope, and provide them with new opportunities. One of the ways we wish to offer hope is through building the only dedicated transitional housing program in the region, consisting of a community of eight newly constructed 1,024-square-foot homes where our clients can live and grow.

Providing Solutions

It is well documented that, in addition to the 15% poverty rate, the bi-county region has a rising homeless population. The number of people living outdoors and in shelters increased in 2019 over the previous year. The Salvation Army seeks to fulfill its mission by contributing solutions to this problem.

Hope Vista, a transitional housing facility, provides a safe and stable environment for families in housing transition. The Emergency Disaster Transitional Living Program specifically offers case management and self-sufficiency services for displaced families of the Camp Fire disaster.

This program will offer:

  • Case Management
  • Housing Navigation
  • Employment Assistance
  • Goal Setting
  • Budgeting
  • Pastoral Counseling
  • Sober Living Environment

Our clients will also have the opportunity to participate in our local Community Center and experience the wonderful fellowship and social services we have available. We feel that this community spirit will set our program apart, and help our clients stay on track.

And when clients move on from transitional housing, our help won’t end there. We’ll also provide wrap-around services for up to one year, including case work and home visits. This aspect of the program is an important component to keeping clients focused on moving forward with their lives and not revisiting past patterns.

Self-sufficiency is the ultimate goal.
